Before coming to believe in Jesus Christ, we often see things through a distorted lens. Just like needing contacts or glasses to see clearly, we need the truth of the gospel to gain proper perspective on life. Walking with Jesus leads to kingdom vision, which brings essential clarity to our lives.
What Does Kingdom Vision Reveal About Our World?
Kingdom vision helps us understand that the world doesn't work as originally intended. Due to sin entering through Adam and Eve, we experience:
Pain and difficulty in relationships
Struggles with work and provision
Suffering and hardship
Broken systems and structures
This understanding helps us avoid being surprised by brokenness while maintaining compassion for others. Rather than judgment, we respond with grace, recognizing our own capacity for sin apart from God's intervention.
How Does Kingdom Vision Change Our Responsibilities?
With kingdom vision comes clear responsibilities:
Plead in Prayer
Pray consistently for those who don't know Jesus
Ask God to use you in your sphere of influence
Seek guidance for obedient living
Go and Share
Recognize we are God's solution to the world's greatest problem
Be prepared to share the gospel
Share indiscriminately with all people
Live Out the Great Commission
Love God with all your heart, soul and mind
Love your neighbor as yourself
Welcome all people to hear the gospel message
How Does Kingdom Vision Impact Our Self-Understanding?
Kingdom vision requires:
Trusting Jesus even when the path isn't clear
Continuing to grow through ongoing interaction with Jesus
Recognizing our constant need for Christ's provision
Seeing ourselves honestly - both our brokenness and our identity in Christ
Life Application
This week, take these practical steps to develop kingdom vision:
Choose one non-believing person and pray for them daily
Memorize specific scripture verses you can use to share the gospel
Take one step of obedience in an area where you've been hesitant
Ask yourself:
Who in my life needs to hear about Jesus?
What's holding me back from sharing my faith?
Where do I need to trust Jesus more fully?
How can I better see myself and others through God's eyes?
Remember: Kingdom vision isn't just about seeing clearly - it's about allowing that clarity to transform how we live, love, and share Christ with others.
